Do you have a touching real-life-story that you think will appeal to the heart of the reader?

A heart is meant to be touched and that which cannot be touched, can’t be called a heart. Down the ‘heart lane’ every one of us has such moments which we would like to cherish forever or those which we would like to forget altogether. Why? Because once upon a time those moments had touched our heart. A stranger walking in and becoming a part of your life, a deceitful or a treacherous act by a most faithful person, an unexpected reunion or survival or demise of someone, a book or a letter which changed the direction of your life forever,

some indelible moments revolving around your child or your adorable pet, a godsend in a calamity, an astonishing coincidence, an unexpected divine experience opening a new world for you…..and many such moments we all would love to read about. Fiction has no place here. You can read some of the touching real life stories, here by clicking on them:

You can send your entries as per the guidelines given here.
Please follow these guidelines before you inscribe your heartfelt moments on the paper:

Short Guidelines:
1.    Prepare a final draft of your story after careful proofreading. Word limit: 1000 words
2.    Add a title, your name, your country, photos, if any. File size: 5 MB max
3.    Upload the Word document file and send it to the email id given below.

Guidelines in Details:

Your heart is leaping at the thought of sharing your heartfelt moments with others. Don’t stop it. Sharing experiences helps spread sympathy, rekindles hearts and bring humans together as a family.

Take a piece of paper. Write down the points in short you want to elaborate upon. Now, elaborate on those points until you are satisfied. Please note that your story should not exceed 1000 words; readers despise long, boring descriptions. You may need to edit your writing, multiple times.

This initial draft does contain many mistakes and slip-ups which one may overlook. Editors from well-known publications often say that even ace writers commit silly errors; not to speak of ordinary writers like me and 90% of us. (Sorry!)

Now, the most important step. Read it, re-read it, read it to someone who is good at linguistics; correct the errors with special attention to spelling, punctuation, paragraphs, capitalization etc. The right choice between accent, ascent and assent, everyone and every one, mistakes like quiet in place of quite, peace in the interest of piece, cannot be carried out or detected even by a most sophisticated grammar tool.

Next up, open up the Microsoft Word document. Most of us have it on our PC or laptops. Give a suitable title. Start typing. Use any one of routinely used fonts, size 11 or 12, paper size A4.  At the end, write down your name, the name of your country.

You might love to add a few photographs related to the event you have described. You can copy-paste them directly on the Word document. To change its size, click on the image and drag its corners. This will help them adapt to your page size. Oftentimes, the photos are taken with a higher megapixel camera setting. In such instances, the image size is too big to be attached to an email. You will need to get those images optimized before you paste them on the document. There are many online tools available to do it and they do it quite effectively. You may ask for help from someone who is adept at doing this. Our inbox is customized not to accept emails with a file size of more than 5 MB.

Do not convert your file to pdf. Upload as a Word document and send it to: here
